Europe Jazz Network ́s General Assembly 2013 is arranged in Trondheim.
On that occasion we present a showcase consisting of national artists with a geographic range spanning just about the length of Norway, and an equally wide range of genres. Together the artists represent the whole spectrum of norwegian quality jazz, and they all exibit international appeal.

21.00 HEDVIG MOLLESTAD TRIO
Soulful and expressive, intense and mystic, award-winning and extravagantly praised for records and live shows. This trio has been going nowhere but up since their debut on Rune Grammofon. The sequel All of them Witches is the proof that this power trio is worthy of all their praise. Powerful music with a piercing presence that stir up grand feelings!

Cortex is a Norwegian band playing energy jazz of the finest blend. With over fifty live shows and two studio albums they ́ve made their mark as one of the most pronounced additions to the Norwegian jazz scene.

Vigleik Storaas Trio has existed since 1993. Of a total of 5 recordings, two of them has won the Norwegian Grammy, Spellemannsprisen. The trio consists of some of Norways most eloquent jazz musicians, and can be trusted to make an impression. A fact that the biggest jazz festivals and jazz clubs in Norway can attest to.

Marius Neset, has in the recent years earned his rank as one of the most talented saxophonists in Europe.
During Moldejazz 2012 his commissioned work written for Trondheim Jazz Orchestra was reviewed as “one of the highlights in the history of Moldejazz.” (Dagsavisen)

The ensemble Trondheim Voices is working with the endless possibilities that exists within vocal improvisation and wishes to explore the edges of what can be done with the voice, to find new expressions and new music. Trondheim Voices consists of individual soloists, as those soloists happen to be some of the most accomplished vocalists in Norway, the result is breathtaking.

Benjamin Mørk hails from Senja, in the far north of Norway. MØRK was conceived in early 2012 in Tromsø. Here, he combines minimalistic music with his background from the rock scene. He recorded and produced his debut album “Karosho” in 2012. The album received excellent reviews both in Norway and abroad, and the release concert took place on the legendary artic vessel “Polstjerna” in Tromsø.

After winning the prestigious JazzIntro award in 2008, “Young Jazz Musicians of the year”, Albatrosh has had busy years. In 2009 they released their critically acclaimed debut album, “Seagull Island” (InnerEar), as the cohesive press celebrated with solid rolls of the dice, and by the big Norwegian newspa- per Dagbladet described as “Perhaps the most exciting release in Norwegian elite jazz in many years”.
At North Sea Jazz 2009 they won the prestigious 1st prize “Best Band” in the European Jazz Competition

Sommerfuglfisk perform Nina Kristine Linge ́s genre-breaking songs brimful of groove, improvisational freedom and energetic playfulness. After concerts at many festivals and clubs in the last years, they ́re releasing their debut album on Bergland Productions in 2013.
